AI answer sheet checking
Handwritten copies, checked by AI in a teacher's red pen.
Upload a whole class's scanned answer sheets at once. Evalezy reads every student's name, marks each answer against one marking scheme, and hands back the student's own copy with ticks, crosses, notes and the total circled. You review and release.

The pile
After every exam, a teacher carries home a stack of copies and gives up evenings and weekends to check them.
The drift
Copy 5 and copy 95 are not marked the same way. Neither are two teachers checking the same paper.
The number
Under time pressure, students get a score and a few ticks, rarely the reason they lost marks.
What makes Evalezy different
Not a score table. The copy itself, checked.
Most AI graders give you a number per question. Evalezy writes back onto the student's own pages, the way a teacher would, so students can see exactly where marks were won and lost.
| Q | Score | Remark |
|---|---|---|
| Q4 | 0 / 1 | Incorrect |
| Q5 | 0 / 1 | Incorrect |
| Q6 | 0 / 1 | Incorrect |
| Q21 | 1.5 / 2 | Partially correct |
| Q30 | 0.5 / 3 | Partially correct |
A number per question. The student never sees where on the page they went wrong.

How it works
From question paper to released results in four steps.
- 01
Upload the question paper
It is read into questions with their marks. Fix anything in a minute, no retyping.
- 02
Set the marking scheme
Accept the AI's draft for each question, edit it, or write your own with model answers.
- 03
Upload every copy at once
Up to 200 PDFs. Names and roll numbers are read from each sheet and matched to your students.
- 04
Review, then release
Marks fill in live. Change any mark, then release. Students get their checked copy by email.
Bulk upload & student matching
Drop in 200 copies. Each one finds its student.
Scan the whole section into one folder and upload it. Evalezy reads the name, roll number and class written at the top of each copy and matches it to your students. When it is not sure, it asks you instead of guessing.
- Phone photos or scanner PDFs, one file per student, up to 60 MB each
- Reading names is free; you pay only for pages checked
- Copies with no name or two close matches wait for you to pick
- Or check the copies students uploaded themselves in one click
- A bell alert and an email when the batch is done
Bulk AI check
Each uploaded copy, who it was matched to, and where its check is.

Consistent marking, teacher control
One marking scheme for every student. The final word for every teacher.
Each question gets a scheme once, used for copy 1 and copy 200 alike. Then the marks land as a draft for you to review, change and release.
1. The AI drafts the scheme; you can change every line

Built to be trusted with marks
Careful where it matters.
We do not publish an accuracy percentage; it depends on handwriting, scans and your scheme. Here is what Evalezy does instead to keep marks right.
Answers found by content
Students answer out of order. Evalezy matches each answer to its question by what it says, not by the number written beside it.
Maths gets a second read
Equations and working are read from the page; lines it is unsure of go to a dedicated equation reader.
Never guesses an unreadable page
If most of a copy cannot be read, the check stops with a clear reason. No invented marks, and no charge.
Marks that add up
Criteria always sum to the question's marks, marks come in half steps, and every deduction gets one clear note.
Never guesses a student
No name, a weak match or two close names? The copy waits for you to pick. It is never filed under the wrong student.
Teachers have the last word
Marks are a draft until released. A teacher's edit is never overwritten, even if the copy is checked again.
1–8 minutes a copy, several at once. First results in about 10 minutes.
100 copies in about 2–3 hours. Upload in the evening, review in the morning.
Diagrams are judged by labels and explanation only; keep a teacher on those.

Questions teachers ask us
More in the full FAQ.
How accurate is it?+
We do not publish an accuracy percentage, because it depends on handwriting, scan quality, subject and how good the marking scheme is. What we do instead: every mark comes with the student's answer as read and the reason for the mark, low-confidence questions are flagged for review, unreadable copies are never guessed, and nothing reaches students until a teacher releases it. Try it on your own copies in a demo.
Can teachers change the AI's marks?+
Yes, any mark on any question. The review screen shows the student's answer as read, the AI's feedback and the criteria breakdown. A mark a teacher edits is never overwritten, even if the copy is checked again.
Do I need a scanner?+
No. Phone photos combined into a PDF work. The sample copy on this site is a phone photo of a spiral notebook. Pages are straightened, cleaned and contrast-boosted before reading.
How does it know which copy belongs to which student?+
It reads the name, roll number and class or section written at the top of the first page (or the second page's header) and matches it to the students in that assessment. If there is no name, the match is weak, or two students are close, it does not guess: the copy waits for you to pick the student or skip it.
What about diagrams, maps and graphs?+
Grading works from what is written. Diagrams are judged by their labels and the written explanation, not as drawings. For questions that are mostly a diagram, keep a teacher on the final mark.
How long does it take?+
Usually 1 to 8 minutes per copy, with several copies checked in parallel. The first results appear in about 10 minutes; 100 copies take roughly 2 to 3 hours. You get a bell alert and an email when a batch is done.
What is not charged?+
Failed checks, stopped checks and unreadable copies are free. Reading names and matching copies to students is free.
Is there an API?+
Yes. Create assessments, set evaluation criteria, send answer sheets by file upload or URL, and get marks, feedback and the checked PDF from a status endpoint or a webhook. API access is enabled per account; request it on the demo page.
